Burhan Beidas, Chairman & CEO Madco Group

Established in 1967 by Burhan Beidas, Madco has managed to expand its reach to encompass branches throughout the Middle East, with offices in UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Cairo, Beirut, Jeddah, Riyadh and the USA, with a total billings exceeding 48 million US dollars and employing 163 personnel in its network with its headquarters in Dubai.
Madco offices have won various international and regional awards namely the International Advertising Award, Cresta International Award and the award from the gold and Jewellery trade for the Dubai Shopping Festival 1996.

Madco Group Advertising was among the first communications network to operate in the region.

Arab Bank appoints Burson Marsteller for major brand campaign

A l’occasion du Mondial de la publicité francophone qui se tiendra au Liban du 2 au 4 octobre, une conférence de presse a eu lieu le mercredi 17 au siège du Syndicat de la presse et été donnée par Erwin Guerrovich, président du Comité national en présence de Camille Menassa, Ibrahim Tabet, président du chapitre libanais de IAA et Saïd Sabbagha, président du syndicat des agences de publicité.

Le Mondial de la publicité francophone fondé en 1986 à Montréal par des publicitaires français et québécois est un concours destiné à promouvoir la publicité. Tous les ans, ses créateurs organisent conférences et séminaires lesquels sont couronnés par un concours «visant à mettre en valeur la création publicitaire francophone». Pour l’année 1996, le dixième Mondial de la Publicité francophone se tiendra pour la première fois au Liban. Pour annoncer cet événement, M. Jean-Claude Boulos, coordinateur de l’événement au Liban, a tenu une conférence de presse à l’hôtel Century Park, Kaslik, où séjourneront les membres du jury. A noter que le concours récompensera les agences de publicité et non les publicités en soi. Les délibérations auront lieu le mercredi 31 juillet et seront clôturées par un dîner de gala patronné par le président Charles Hélou.

AA: Haress Chehab, could you tell us something about your background?

HC: I began my work in Lebanon in the early 1970s as a journalist with a now-defunct newspaper called As Safa. I was a free-lance reporter and photographer. I then returned to university. It was a long road in and out of university, trying to figure out where I wanted to reach eventually.

IAA Kuwait chapter holds Ramadan dinner

During Ramadan, the IAA Kuwait Chapter and Philip Morris Services Inc., hosted a dinner at the Meridien Hotel. A large turnout from local advertising agencies, media and some advertisers made the evening a huge success.

Elian Farah, Vice President IAA Kuwait Chapter, welcomed the guests, and Maroun Zabbal, the Chapter President, said in his remarks that he hoped 1999 would be a year full of continued cooperation in the local advertising field, benefiting all involved. [Read more...]

INTERMARKETS held its regional conference between Oct. 3-5 in Kuwait at the Sheraton.
The main topics of discussion during the three-day conference included current issues and prospectives of Intermarkets activities. Kuwait was chosen as host country for the Conference this year, as the year 1989 marked the 20th year Anniversary of Intermarkets Kuwait.

INTERMARKETS held its regional conference from October 3 to 5 in Kuwait at the Sheraton Hotel.

The main topics of discussion during the three day conference included current issues and prospectives of Intermarkets activities. Kuwait was chosen as host country for the conference this year, as the year 1989 marked the 20th year anniversary of Intermarkets Kuwait. Intermarkets Kuwait was established in 1969, with it the birth of the first professional advertising and marketing agency was witnessed. Since that time Intermarkets succeeded in building up its Middle East network.
